Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, 2015's That's The Spirit marked the fifth full-length from Sheffield's metalcore-turned-pop rock stars Bring Me The Horizon. With the official enlisting of keyboardist/programmer Jordan Fish as a fulltime member on 2013's Sempiternal, both he and vocalist Oli Sykes would begin experimenting with hyper-pop formulas whilst straying further away from metallic arrangements, gradually coming to the realisation they were poised to become the next "gateway metal" band, following in the footsteps of Linkin Park and 30 Seconds To Mars. Fully embracing electronic production, prioritising instantaneous, anthemic hooks and streamlining their compositions, the calculated risks would garner the band an entirely new wave of avid fans, catapulting them to arena shows and festival headline slots at Download and Reading and Leeds. Boasting some of their biggest hits to date, including 'Happy Song', 'Throne' and 'Drown', as well as the true arrival of Oli Sykes as a Bonafide rockstar frontman, flexing his clean vocals and keen ear for melody with bold new confidence, the decade since has been the band balloon to the biggest "metal"-centric export from the UK, laying the groundwork for the recent explosion in popularity of Sleep Token.
